Product Description
As the name implies, the Hybrid CE is a cross between our ever popular Chaos and Extreme models. Like our Chaos, the main pole is one continuous system. Like our Extreme, the Hybrid CE uses a pole across the middle to help stabilize the tent in stronger winds. The Hybrid CE uses a full coverage fly that has two vestibules to maximize your gear storage space. Combined with the #8 zippers on the doors and vestibules, the factory sealed fly and floor seams, and the 3000mm coating on the floor, this tent is sure to give you years of use, without any worry of leaking or zipper trouble.

Exactly what I was looking for
By KIWH
I used this tent (the 2-man) for the first time on a trip lasting 4 nights. This is exactly what I was looking for in a solo tent. I wanted a tent that had enough room for my sleeping bag and my gear, with little wasted space. Being somewhat skeptical ordering a tent that I had not seen in person, I did not know what to expect size, set up and material wise. As per usual, the two man tent is room enough for a sleeping bag and my gear. I like a tent as small and efficient as possible. Two people in this tent would take up all the floor space pretty tightly and would not leave much room for gear (I do not like to leave mine outside). The construction is solid. I have only owned three or four lightweight tents, all of them being old fashioned dome style, and this is by far the easiest tent to set up, take down and pack that I have ever had. It is definitely several steps up from what I am used to. Both doors have a vestibule, which is great for shoes, wet clothes, etc. There is plenty of ventilation,as there are two doors that unzip to mesh and two windows at the head and foot, as well as a mesh roof window. Even with the rain-fly on, which covers the tent entirely, it stays aired out inside. There are vents on the fly at each end that can be controlled from inside via a zipper at the top of the window. You can reach through and open or close the vent using a nicely designed Velcro wrapped stick (it kind of hard to explain, but it works well). Pretty much the only complaint I have design-wise is that the small windows on each end do not close with solid fabric. I knew this purchasing the tent though, knowing the rain-fly would cover them. This is just a privacy issue, I like my tent closed up at busy campgrounds. When set up and staked to the ground, the structure is extremely taut and stable. The floor is made of about the same material (but slightly more coated) as the walls are. I used a common 6' by 8' tarp from the hardware store as a footprint. It was just the right size to cover the floor of the tent. If you want to cover the ground under the vestibules, an 8' by 10' tarp would be needed. I have not encountered any rain but I can almost guarantee this tent would stay completely dry even in windy, heavy rain. The rain-fly encompasses the entirety of the tent and all water running down is channeled several inches away from any part of the tent itself. Also, the tent did not even budge in the 20 MPH wind of a cool front; again, it is very solid. If you put your hand on the top to shake it, it barely moves. I am very pleased with everything from the materials to the engineering of this tent. Overall an excellent buy.

Awsome tent, Easy to set up, Roomy, waterproof!!
By swagg
I took the tent camping for the first time at the coast in Oregon, and it was a great test, because it rained all night long, the tent inside did not get wet nor leak. During the rain storm i did feel the underside of the fly, and it was wet. Im not sure if this is a bad thing or not. But the main thing is i did not get wet. The roominess was outstanding, i was easily able to fit 2 people plus air pads and extra gear in the tent as well as in the vestibules. Ventallation was great, with the ability to turn the doors into screens, plus the vents you can prop open on either side of the fly. Set up I was able to set it up by myself in about 5-8 min, with is quite impressive for a tent to be so easy and intuitive. it was very light and portable to carry, just split the load between two people, and you are only carrying around 3 extra lbs ea.All in all, a great tent that i highly recommend for your backpacking needs.

Not ight weight, but a great tent with solid build

I originally posted this review back in 2012, but the product link is no longer good, as such I am moving it to this live link.My 5-star rating takes size, weight, quality, ease of setup, and price into account. While a little heavy, the price and ease of setup, matched with the quality, make this a 5-star product in my opinion.I purchased the 3-person version of this tent for Christmas 2011 and have taken it on approximately 4 campouts since then (I own a Eureka Solitaire that I took in place of the ALPS tent on 1 occasion this year). I used it on a camping trip with my wife, and have used it 3 other times while camping with a scout troop. The tent is incredibly easy to setup. Moving at a slow pace, it takes me less than 5 minutes to set up the tent. In fact, racing some of the scouts to see who could set up their tent first, I was able to put it up in less than 3 minutes. This is a true 3-man tent, which actually means that it fits 2 grown adults comfortably but accommodates 3.I currently live and camp in South Florida and I have not had any problems with the tent leaking. If you use a footprint and set the tent up properly, you should not have any problems with moisture. If you are concerned about the tent leaking, remember that tents are not waterproof. No matter how great a tent, if there is a downpour or you set it up wrong, you are likely to get wet.A couple comments:First, ALPS makes a good product. If anyone tells you otherwise, I would question how they determine what is or is not a "good" product. Good product for me = solid craftsmanship, state of the art design (as compared to out of date), and meant for continued use over a period of a couple years.Second, when you look at the specs of this tent (and any other ALPS tent) feel free to compare it to others such as Eureka, Big Agnes, MSR, North Face, and REI's brand. What you will find is that the ALPS tents are larger than the Big Agnes (but smaller than MSR) tents, and about the same size as the Eureka and REI brands (I am actually not a huge fan of North Face so I am not going to talk about them). What will set the tents/brands apart from one another is really going to be the trail weight. ALPS are more expensive but lighter than Eureka. REI brand will be slightly lighter but more expensive. Big Agnes & MSR will be much more expensive and a sold pound or more lighter. My suggestion is to buy an ALPS tent and save your money. If you are concerned about the weight of the tent, spend the money you save buying an ALPS tent on a better backpack--backpacks make all the difference in the world. If you are looking for a good backpack, I suggest taking a look at Osprey's various packs.Third, make sure you buy the style (think shape of the tent) that you really want. I am very happy with my purchase of the Hybrid Ce 3 tent; however, for what I use the tent for, I believe I would have been happier with an ALPS Chaos 2 or possibly a Zephyr 2 model. My wife on the other hand may have shot me had I purchased either of those.***UPDATE***After 5 additional campouts, for a total of 9 campouts, still no problems with the tent. This last week, I spent three days in Northern Florida where there was heavy (and I do mean heavy) dew in the AM; still no leaking. While I take good care of my tent, I have yet to use a seam sealer and/or other waterproofing substance.
