Look no further for your next four season tent. The Jagged Peak has larger pole diameter and weatherproof shock cord to help withstand those harsh winter environments. The free standing aluminum pole configuration is extremely strong and sturdy. The hub design and the additional pole give you more "framework" to combat Mother Nature when she decides to send you a little stronger storm than normal. All vents can be fully closed. Assembly is easy with pole clips that quickly snap over the tent poles. The polyester fly and floor are urethane coated, with factory sealed seams for maximum weatherproofness. A door on each side of the tent makes getting in and out of the tent easy. You also get two large vestibules that can be used for extra gear storage. The vestibules also serve as automatic guy-out points when the weather gets a little nasty. The fly buckles to the tent, offering a much more secure attachment when compared to elastic cord. Extra large #8 zippers on the doors and vestibules add to the durability. Both doors have zippered windows. I was delighted to find a four-season tent for less then $400, but a series of design flaws make this tent unusable for our season use.First, the ventilation and windows. What makes a tent 'four-season' is that it can stand up to snow and high winds, and will still keep you dry. I generally look for tents that are 'fully sealable'; that is, every window/vent can be completely closed to keep out blowing wind and, critically, blowing snow. This tent APPEARS to be fully sealable in the images online, but IS NOT. For unknown reasons, the designers decided to included windows very low along the sidewall. These would be simply a unnecessary, but for some reason they do not zip all the way shut. The top edge of the window cannot be zipped shut, with the result that blowing snow, rain, and sand will be whisked into your tent in high winds.Second, I look for high-quality hardware. The tent ships with the crumbiest aluminum stakes you've ever seen that will bend on first use. The simple 'hook' design also makes it difficult to securely stake-down the tent, making it prone to uprooting in high winds. Compare these to the 'groundhog' stakes that ship with MSR and Mountain Hardware tents, which are essentially unbendable and have multiple recurved edges to hold them to the tent material. In addition, the plastic hooks used to connect the tent to the poles , including the center hook where the poles cross, do not have a gate to securely lock the poles in place. As a result, the poles slide out of position easily, weakening the structure of the tent. Compare this to the Mountain Hardware tents, which lock the poles in place.Finally, the floor is made of the same thin, light material as the sides of the tent. A good four-season tent will have heavy-duty, rubberized bottom, as you will find on the MSR Dragontail tents. A footprint is an essential extra for this tent, which will otherwise wick up water through the bottom. Don't even think about pitching this in snow without a ground cloth.These flaws are unfortunate, as a few dollars extra in materials would have substantially improved the usability of the product.

First off is a good deal worth it if your item is cheaply made? Will you only receive quality items in exchange for big $$$$? Just putting it out there. This revu is a preliminary, first off impression. Pikked this tent up off of SAC for $139+$10 s/h, had a $10 promo code. Soo a 4Season Stated tent for $140. We will see. Right off the bat, don't care for the weight. 6lbs is alot in my opinion for a 2person lodge. But this lodge is just that, bigger than other 2person moveabouts. So if ya want space, this one is your mattress.Will further my revu once item used, but desired to leave first impression, since most ebsites Fail to tell you where a product was made. It wasnt in Europe, NAmerica, SAmerica, Africa nor Australia, nor Antarctica.
