The Chaos is a one continuous pole design, free standing tent that is enhanced with 2 doors for easy entry and 2 vestibules for gear storage and extra weather protection. Extra large #8 zippers make opening and closing the doors and vestibules a breeze. The Chaos has 7000 series aluminum poles that are strong and lightweight. Assembly is really easy with the tent clips that just snap in place over the poles. The poles are all shock corded together as one continuous system. With a factory sealed fly and floor seams, you're sure to stay dry in rainy weather. The polyester fly and floor are urethane coated, factory sealed seams for maximum weatherproofness. The fly buckles to the tent, offering a much more secure attachment when compared to elastic cord. The mesh roof vents increase ventilation and improves star gazing. All these combined features, make the Chaos a great choice for any backpacking trip. I set the tent up as soon as I got it in the mail. I was so excited!!! On the first try, I set it up in less than 5 minutes and that was only because I kept looking at the instructions to make sure I did not make a mistake or break something. Now, I know I can set it up in two minutes. Once assembled, which btw, due to the pole design method, was a piece of cake, (the poles naturally want to go together).The poles locked into place on their own quickly. All I had to do was make sure they were fit snug before placing them in the grommets at the corners of the tent.ALPS also includes little extras like the loft net and rain tarp... other companies will make you buy this separately.I also applied the rain flap in 2 minutes. I love the clips that are used at the corners to fit it into place! If you buy the foot print, it also comes with the clips so that you can set up the tarp and rain fly in 2 minutes AND THEN assemble/ disassemble the tent while protected from the rain. Once fully assembled, I got into the tent and noticed that there are pockets to store the doors of the tent, should you wish to keep them open. For one or two people this is perfect sized tent. For me, a larger guy at 5'10" and my BF is 5'8" and broad shouldered, this tent fits us both perfectly with room to move around.The black mesh cloth is at either end and is perfect for star gazing.I did a LOT of research before settling with this tent. I must have spent 3 months daily looking at tents before buying this one, and I researched AFTER I bought it as well to feel confident in my purchase. ALPS spends time and effort to ensure their customers do not have buyers remorse in their purchase either. They sent me an email about the tent, included brochures with the tent that tell you why it is so great, and provide a direct email address with ALPS in case anything is missing or breaks to ensure for your complete satisfaction of the purchase. I was sold on the floor which is sprayed over 6 times with a protective coating. That is more than ANY OTHER tent is treated for floor protection I found on the market for similar size and weight. I did go ahead and buy the floor protector as well to help the tent last longer, but I am confident in the design of this model. If you are looking for a light weight car camping or weekend hiking tent, this IS the one you want to buy for two people in the outdoors!!!

This tent is a good middle ground between lightweight and affordable. It does not seem nearly as durable as my original Moss tent, but it is half the weight and I think will still be durable enough. It is easy to set up and has nice, thoughful features like the door pockets and mesh gear net. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and will see how it holds up over the summer.
